Our History
DrinksandDesserts Media Solutions was born in 2015, when Shae.Carey was seeking more than just empty job openings and internships after college. She gathered a few friends and launched an accountability networking group called Drinks and Desserts. Every two weeks after dinner, they met to share goals, exchange resources, and give each other “homework” to keep moving forward, all over desserts and nonalcoholic drinks.
What started as casual meetups quickly grew into something bigger: members went on to launch businesses, step confidently into their careers, and bring their bold ideas to life. For Shae.Carrey, it sparked a lasting passion for helping small and emerging nonprofits with events, donor cultivation, retention, and marketing. That passion soon expanded into a full freelance career, and today, with over eight years of experience, Shae.Carrey has worked for nonprofits and businesses alike, combining creativity, strategy, and storytelling to help organizations grow and thrive.

Shae.Carey is a nonprofit development and event professional, filmmaker, and communications strategist with more than eight years of experience bringing organizational and business stories to life. She has worked with a wide range of small to mid-sized clients, including authors, nonprofits, higher education institutions, government agencies, advertising firms, and tech companies, delivering solutions that expand visibility, strengthen engagement, and drive growth.
As founder of DrinksandDesserts Media Solutions, Shae leads a mission to transform marketing communications with strategies that amplify brand recognition, boost donor and customer loyalty, and connect organizations with their audiences. Her expertise spans event design and promotion, digital and print campaigns, email marketing, website development, donor cultivation and retention, and film production.
